In short there are 3 phases to graduate through. The idea is that you need to eat the right foods at the same time you’re doing the rigorous P90x training. So it is designed to give your body the power and strength it needs in order to handle the challenging workout program. That’s why it’s VITAL that you keep a constant schedule and see where you are in terms of the workout and routine. If you lose track you’re going to be confused about where you are in the program and it will not bring the you the results that you are looking for.
Phase 1 of the nutrition guide eases you into the workout. This is where you will start to see all the extra calories and fat that has built up over time to be burnt out in a quick and effective way. You will soon notice that after the flab has disappeared, something else will appear. That is you’ll see the formulation of muscle! If you’re a bit slower than the rest, it might take you around one month to complete this phase. I have heard of many people who have been able to complete this entire section within 48 hours of purchasing the P90x program. So it really depends on how much you want to lose weight. Also, the amount of carbs you are allowed to intake during this time is reduced severely so you might feel a bit tired at times. Instead, you’re encourage to take large amounts of protein as replacement.
During this time, you’re going to be eating around 20% fatty food, 30% carbs and the rest would be solely for protein. If you keep this up, it will force your body to shed fat and increase muscle mass formation.
Phase 2 of the diet is much less painful because you’re going to be able to start eating more carbs. This is called the energy boosting phase as you’re going to working on increasing the amount of energy your body can produce. This sounds fun. But in reality you’re going to need this extra energy in preparation for the last stage that is going to be even harder and require more stamina than the first 2 phases.
The third phase is the most painful one. This is because your’e going to be working on increasing muscle mass and stamina. To do this, you get to eat food that is both high in protein and other carbs. In effect, you want to build your body to a level where it can sustain maximum endurance because you’re going to be pushing it to its very limit.
